Updating Past Texture Posts

Hey,

This joint has been slow, or dormant for a bit. I had been trying to figure out how to show you the textures in a nice way so that you didn’t have to wait 3 minutes for a full resolution image to load.

Now that I’ve done that, I’m getting around to the past texture posts to fix em up and set up a download link for zip files. You can see the images large on the screen in order to get an idea of how they look, and then download if interested.

Most are free texture downloads, but I do have a plan to put up premium texture packs for low cost. I also plan on putting up advertising space because I’m going to be working at getting this place busy! My websites are my life and so is my photography and creativity. If this place is looking slow, give me a shock on twitter or contact me

In the mean time, thanks for your patience as I update the past texture posts and get this running again.

Urban Billboard Textures from Toronto

I’ve got 5 grunge textures that I took in Toronto the other Summer. I thought they were already up on here for you to download. Seems I was mistaken and I realized because of the Mini Re-Design. These textures are not perfect, however they would be great if using as a background layer over a photo. They are totally free to use under the creative commons license right now. I do reserve the right to pull that at any time. I am working out some ideas for the site that may take a bit of time to work out. If you do use the textures in anything, feel free to leave a comment or contact me with your work. It’s not necessary or expected, but I’d love to see it and link to it in the future.

Wood-Pecked Bark Texture

This is kinda cool. A tree bark texture that has multiple holes from woodpecker’s. Found this on a Photowalk in May! I had no idea that woodpeckers’ would be in this area of my city but I don’t know much about birds. I am not sure what the problem with the Next Gen Gallery Plugin is yet, so in the gallery section the thumbnail is not working. I think this blog is mad at me, or it’s related to the Wordpress 2.8 and plugin upgrades. Either way, I’m glad to update even if it means there is only one texture in this post. I think that is okay.

Ten Band Sticker Textures

These are some pretty cool textures. We have a venue called “Call The Office” here in London and I was walking around it to find something to photograph. I came across the door at the back of the building and it was covered in stickers of different bands. It was pretty grungy; however it looked great. I suddenly imagined all these bands had played here at one time and probably exited from this door. I don’t know if there is a story to the door, but it sure does provide a nice texture. I hope you find them useful in your projects and feel link to the textures. They are all high resolution and shot from my Nikon d300. Some of the textures contain bands I havn’t heard of before, so I am not sure if every sticker is a band or if other stickers got stuck on the door over time. Enjoy the freebies!
